The Magnetotelluric (MT) Method is an electromagnetic (EM) survey process, which involves measuring of natural fluctuations in electric (E) and magnetic (B) fields in orthogonal directions on the earth’s surface as a means to determine the distribution of resistivity of the earth.

MT Processing Steps:

  • Remote Station;
  • Robust processing composed of spectral matrices;
  • Dimensionality study;
  • Definition of geoelectrical strike;
  • Determination of apparent resistivity;
  • Static shift correction;
  • Inversion.
